Here are a few of the benefits that make lip blush great:
HEALING: Lip blush lasts about 2-3 years before needing a colour refresh, and heals the most quickly of all permanent makeup procedures!
IMPORTANT: If you have *ever* had a cold sore, you will need to obtain preventative medication to take 3-5 days before and after your procedure. This can be easily obtained at your local pharmacy, or from your family doctor (Cyclovir or similar).
CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP:
NOTE: If you are over the age of 55, please send a well-lit photo of your lips to forever.flawless.pmu@gmail.com before booking your lip blush procedure
Healing:
5-7days to heal completely, 6 weeks for full colour to develop
See the PRE-CARE and ATERCARE page for full details!

Lip blush on bilateral cleft lip reconstruction
Dark lip neutralization is a cosmetic procedure designed to correct and balance the color of dark or pigmented lips. This process is typically completed over multiple appointments.
Typically, the first appointment involves the application of specially formulated pigments that neutralize the dark tones, resulting in a more even lip colour. The colour applied will typically be a bright orange or very light pink, depending on the natural undertones of your lips. This appointment is *not* about achieving your favourite lip colour, but instead is meant to create a more evenly-coloured canvas to work with.
After your initial appointment, you will book a perfection session anywhere from 8-12 weeks later. The time between your appointments will be determined on a case-by-case basis, but generally speaking, the darker your lips are initially, the longer we will wait between sessions.
Once your lip tone has been successfully neutralized, we will determine your target lip colour, which will be applied at your perfection session!
Dark lip neutralization requires patience, but the results are worth the wait!

Choosing the right lip blush colour can feel so daunting!
Hopefully this video will help to demystify the process, and help you to find some peace of mind before booking your lip blush.
I have created this video with clients in mind, but beyond what is mentioned here, there are numerous factors to consider from the artist's perspective.
Clients - keep it simple by thinking, "YOUR LIPS, BUT BETTER!"
Please reach us at forever.flawless.pmu@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I always block 3 full hours for any lip blush service. This includes time for paperwork, photos, mapping the lip shape, and setting you up with aftercare. The procedure itself typically takes anywhere from 1-2 hours.
Over the years, I have developed a technique that keeps the vast majority of my clients comfortable throughout the procedure. I use a numbing cream on the most sensitive areas before we start the procedure, and will also apply numbing throughout to keep your pain levels manageable while I'm finishing my work. In fact... Many of my clients fall asleep during their lip blush!
Some areas are more tender than others. However, with any cosmetic tattoo, discomfort may be felt *during* work on the sensitive areas, but the sensation stops immediately when the machine stops running. In other words, YES there are places that might not feel the greatest... But it's not like going to the dentist where you'll experience persistent aches from the moment the procedure begins. You may feel about 30 seconds of discomfort, then it will stop as we move to work in another area. You can expect a warm, prickly sensation, and also times where you'll feel next to nothing!
We provide detailed aftercare instructions to help maintain your results. You'll be instructed on how to clean, moisturize, and protect the area for 5-7 days after the procedure. After this time, you may resume your regular routine.
The most important part of any permanent makeup procedure is keeping the area clean, and avoiding excessive UV exposure while the skin is in a delicate state. Lip blush heals the most quickly of all permanent makeup procedures, and doesn't require any downtime!
You should know that IF you carry the HSV-1 virus, lip blush is likely to trigger an outbreak. While lip blush does not cause cold sores, it can result in an outbreak on those who carry the virus as it involves trauma to the lip tissue.
A breakout can usually be avoided by talking to your doctor to obtain anti-viral medications prior to your procedure. Typically, my clients are provided with Valtrex, Acyclovir, or similar for 5 days before and after their lip blush procedure. However, your doctor will prescribe the dosage they see fit, so please refer to their expertise!
In preparation for your lip blush procedure, you should:
Remember; an artist's work only looks its best on the proper canvas. If you arrive with dry, sun damaged, flakey lips... We can't work miracles! Healthy lips result in smooth, even colour.
Please put in the work to ensure your lips are in optimal health!
Of course! In fact, I love working on lips with filler.
You should know that lips with filler are more likely to swell post-procedure, so you may want to allow yourself an evening without plans on the day of your procedure. Other than that small caveat, lip blush is an incredible way to restore lost colour and define your shape post-filler.
Please allow a minimum of 3 weeks for fresh filler to settle before you come in for a lip blush. If you've had your filler for longer than that, you can book any time!
You sure can!
If you decide to get filler after you've had a lip blush procedure done, please note that you *may* require a touch up after your filler settles. The filler will stretch out your lip tissue, thereby dispersing the pigment and making it look lighter. You might love this look, or you might want to add a bit of colour to make your lip blush pop more once you've reached your filler goals!
Please allow your lip blush to heal for a minimum of 14 days before adding filler to your lips.
You must forego makeup for 7 days after you complete a lip blush procedure, but after that, you're welcome to use any products you'd like!
You can use a lipstick to change the shade of your lips, just as you would have done prior to having lip blush. You may also use a tinted gloss to really make your lip blush pop!
The choice is entirely yours, but most of my clients find that they're so happy with their healed lip blush that they just apply lip balm most days, and save the makeup for special occasions.
